Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Interpersonal therapy, also known as interpersonal psychotherapy, is a common therapeutic approach to treat mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety. A primary goal of IPT is to reduce individual stresses by helping people improve how they relate to others at home and work, and function in their communities and society.

This approach helps to change relationship patterns and address unhealthy thoughts, behaviors, and expectations as they relate to relationships. Treatment usually lasts 12 to 16 weeks and may consist of individual and group therapy sessions.
