Healthwise is a psychology group practice in Maple Grove, Minnesota. We are a multidisciplinary team of clinicians who offer a wide range of specialties and approaches to  care. At Healthwise, we do not believe in the “one size fits all” approach to therapy. We understand that “who” you talk with is important. Kristin Dahl, PsyD, LP, RYT

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Registered Yoga Teacher

Dr. Dahl provides clinical assessments and therapy services for adults and couples.

Although current evidence-based treatments are the foundation of her work she values a mind-body connection and offers a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. Through mindful conversation and a strong belief in the importance of a compassionate relationship with oneself, she supports client change by offering encouragement and fresh perspectives to patterned thinking and decision-making.

In addition to working with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and life change, Dr. Dahl is experienced in the delivery of psychological services to patients in medical settings including therapy for those dealing with a serious or chronic illness (e.g., fibromyalgia, lymes disease, cancer, digestive disorders, chronic pain, diabetes and heart disease). Stress management and coping with stress related illnesses are additional areas of interest.

Dr. Dahl is certified in HRV Biofeedback. Biofeedback in conjunction with therapy can often reduce anxiety, lift depression and improve stress management.

Stacey Nelson, PsyD, LP

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Stacey Nelson provides clinical assessments and therapy services for children (ages 5+), adolescents, and adults. 

Dr. Nelson's practice philosophy centers around the notion that emotional and behavioral health and well-being are what provide the foundation for life satisfaction. She focuses on skill-building and the exploration of thoughts, feelings, and behavior, toward increased problem-solving and achievement of higher levels of functioning.  Dr. Nelson provides therapy services to individuals, couples, and families, while providing parent education and support to parents when working with children.

In addition to working with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and adjustment to life change, Dr. Nelson is experienced in the delivery of psychological services to forensic/court-ordered populations, as well as individuals with childhood disorders including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders.  She conducts psychological evaluations/testing to clarify diagnosis and make recommendations for appropriate treatment.  Dr. Nelson strives to help individuals and families build a strong foundation to achieve their goals, and works toward providing psychological services that will meet the specific needs of her clients.

Marci Theisen, PsyD, LP, CPRP, RYT

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Registered Yoga Teacher

Dr. Marci Theisen provides clinical assessments and individual psychotherapy services for children (ages 5+), adolescents and adults.

Dr. Theisen partners with clients to help them improve their emotional management skills, increase positive coping and to help strengthen their interpersonal relationships. Therapy involves exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviors and treatment is tailored to meet the unique strengths, needs and preferences of each individual.

Certified in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Dr. Theisen offers individual and group Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Other specialties include Eating Disorders treatment and Sand Tray therapy for children and adolescents.

Heidi Kopacek, PsyD, LP, RYT

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Registered Yoga Teacher

Dr. Heidi Kopacek provides clinical assessments and therapy services for adults.  

Dr. Kopacek's training is in mindfulness-based therapy.  The skill of mindfulness helps one to counter their reflexive fight, flight, or freeze responses both physiologically (through relaxation and breathing techniques), intellectually (by gaining insight into emotional triggers) and spiritually (by connecting to compassion, core beliefs, and vision).  Mindfulness-based therapy can be helpful for managing life transitions, dealing with ongoing feelings of anxiety and depression, or simply working toward a higher sense of purpose and meaning in life.

In addition to mindfulness-based therapy, Dr. Kopacek supports a holistic approach to emotional health. She is versed in nutritional interventions for anxiety and depression,  the practices of yoga and meditation, sleep hygiene, breathing techniques, and energy awareness. Exploring supports the for the mind, body, and spirit is an important part of her therapeutic process.



Rebecca Fischer, PsyD, LP

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Fischer provides therapy for adolescents, adults and couples.

Dr. Fischer believes building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to foster positive change. She strives to meet individuals where they are at in their journey and to provide support as they work to become the person they are capable of being. Dr. Fischer’s therapeutic approach combines empathy and support with challenging and encouraging individuals toward their potential. She also has specialized training in Circle of Security which focuses on attachment in the parent-child relationship, and on how an individual's own upbringing may significantly influence both their parenting practices and their interpersonal relationships. Dr. Fischer is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and integrates DBT-specific skills into her therapeutic practice.

Dr. Fischer also provides psychological evaluations for children (7+), adolescents and adults. Specific evaluations include ADHD evaluations, learning disability evaluations, neuropsychological assessments, developmental disability evaluations, court-ordered psychological evaluations, mental health assessments, anger evaluations, autism evaluations, and pre-surgical psychological screenings. Dr. Fischer completes a thorough interview, gathers collateral information when relevant, and synthesizes this information with the psychological testing results to help clarify mental health and cognitive diagnoses. Detailed treatment recommendations tailored to specific resulting diagnoses are provided.

Britta Lundberg, PhD, LP

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Britta Lundberg provides individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents (ages 13+).

Dr. Lundberg takes a collaborative and client-centered approach that fosters insight, growth, and healing. Using evidence-based therapies emphasizing the mind-body connection, she helps clients find relief from the behavioral and emotional patterns that keep them feeling stuck. She offers clients a range of tools to improve depression and anxiety, cultivate healthy behaviors (e.g., sleep, diet, relaxation), adapt to significant life changes, and enhance relationships with themselves and others.
 
Dr. Lundberg has specialized training in rehabilitation/health psychology, mindfulness meditation, and sleep psychology. In addition to working with individuals with general mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, stress/adjustment), she is experienced in helping those with chronic pain and physical illness or disability.

Jackie Micklewright, PhD, ABPP-CN

Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Micklewright is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in conducting cognitive evaluations with adults with a wide variety of medical, neurological, and psychiatric conditions. She takes a client-centered approach and focuses on understanding the individual in the context of their past, current circumstances (concerns and challenges), and goals for their future. 

Focusing on a comprehensive approach to assessment, Dr. Micklewright integrates empirically-supported methods, knowledge of brain-behavior relationships, and the fundamentals of clinical psychology to support clients and families as they navigate what can often be an uncertain and challenging time in their lives. 

Dr. Micklewright strives to understand clients within the context of their lives and to generate meaningful and individualized recommendations focused on optimizing their functioning and overall quality of life. 

Patty Hlava, PhD, LMFT, AWC, C.MI., RYT

Dr. Patty Hlava provides individual therapy services for adults.

Dr. Hlava works from a systemic and holistic perspective grounded in body-centered and mindfulness-based therapy practices. Fostering a collaborative relationship, she takes a holistic approach that emphasizes self-empowerment, personal growth, and listening to the mind-body-spirit. With formal training in transpersonal psychology and marriage & family therapy, her process is informed by a deep belief that we all have the inherent wisdom to use our losses and other life challenges to grow, heal, and move through life transitions.

Dr. Hlava specializes in working with individuals addressing such issues as anxiety, depression, relational conflict, stress management, and life transitions. She is experienced in the integration of meditation, yoga, Ayurveda, and nutrition as supports for anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties. Dr. Hlava is certified as an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor, meditation instructor, and is a registered yoga teacher. 

Ju-Ping Huang, PhD, LP

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Ju-Ping Huang provides therapy services for individuals (ages 16+) and couples.  She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and can offer DBT-informed therapy. She also conducts psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for adolescents (14+) and adults.

Individual therapy services offer help in dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, infertility, and multicultural issues. Couple’s counseling is offered for a variety of issues including a specialty focus for those couple’s dealing with infertility. In a safe and trusting relationship, Dr. Huang partners with clients to identify their strengths and resilience while working on their struggles. She integrates various counseling theories to meet clients’ specific needs and situation (environment, spirituality, culture, and identity).

Dr. Huang’s thorough and detailed evaluations provide comprehensive diagnostic information for problems related to ADHD, learning disorders and other cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems.

In addition, Dr. Huang is competent in offering culturally sensitive services for minority members and is multilingual. She offers services in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.

Marla Wojtanowicz, MA, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Marla Wojtanowicz provides therapy services for individuals, couples, families and children (ages 7+).

Marla has experience working with individuals of all ages and offers a client centered approach that is tailored to fit one respectfully, as she understands that each person is unique and has their own individual story.

In her work with kids and families, she brings focus to strengthening behavioral and emotional management skills, improving family communication and enriching the home environment. Special attention is given to holding a safe and trusting space where one can feel free to be themselves without judgement and experience feeling more understood.

Further, Marla believes therapy, when rooted in collaboration, can offer opportunities for increased self-awareness and give fresh perspectives in dealing with life challenges.

Nikki Erchul, MSW, LICSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Nikki Erchul provides services for adolescents (ages 14+) and adults, including couples counseling.

Nikki brings in a strong relational aspect to all of her work with clients, focusing on strengths and client specific goals. She utilizes methods of mindfulness, attachment theory and dialectical behavioral therapy in order to foster connection and trust. In her work, she incorporates a holistic approach, which includes examining the physical, spiritual and mental well -being of clients.

In addition to working with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues and life changes, she has extensive experience in treating chemical abuse, trauma and eating disorders.

Nikki is a member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) National Certification and Accreditation Association. DBT can be helpful dealing with emotional deregulation, trauma and behavioral concerns.

Meghan Kane, MA, LMFT

Meghan works with adults, couples, and families.

Meghan's therapeutic approach is centered around building an atmosphere of safety and trust in order to facilitate long term growth and wellness. By connecting past experiences with present responses, Meghan helps individuals bring awareness to their full potential and authentic self. Her open minded and empathetic style fosters individual resiliency, whether healing from disruptive patterns or striving for peace and presence in a stressful world.

In addition to her experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction/recovery, eating disorders, and relational struggles, Meghan is also trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. EMDR can reduce the intensity of symptoms related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and help individuals break free from negative core beliefs, allowing them to lead a more fulfilling and enriching life. Further, Meghan has a passion for helping couples and families learn to communicate and connect on deeper levels, cultivating meaningful and lasting relationships.

Stacey Allen, MA, LMFT, CCLS

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychomedical Consultant

Stacey Allen provides counseling services to couples, individuals, families and children (ages 4+).

Stacey has had extensive training and experience working with couples struggling in their relationships. She also assists people living with a medical diagnosis, and she helps families through their experience of grief and loss, especially when children are involved. 

Stacey believes alliance with clients is the single most important aspect of a successful counseling experience. While she understands that sometimes circumstances push people to create survival patterns that get in the way of living a happy life, she believes that within each person is the ability for compassion and meaningful relationships. 

In her work, Stacey has been trained in Gottman Level One for couples' counselors. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, an assessment and counseling program for new and long-term couples. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist.

 

Tracey McCabe, MA, LPCC, RYT

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Registered Yoga Teacher

Tracey specializes in providing individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults.

Her success in working with clients comes from her strength in building rapport. She strongly believes in tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of the children and families with whom she works. She has successfully provided treatment for anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma and behavioral difficulties in addition to working with family issues. In her work with clients, she strives to help build and develop self-esteem, self-confidence, and identity.

Tracey’s experience and passion stems from working with youth and adolescents for over 7 years in a variety of settings. She utilizes a holistic approach and is trained in Yoga Calm, a technique that specializes in using yoga and mindfulness to manage and decrease symptoms of anxiety, ADHD, and depression. She believes that all children and families deserve the opportunity to experience joy and real happiness.

Kelly Senesac, MA, LMFT

Kelly Senesac provides therapy services for individuals, couples, families and children (ages 5+).

Kelly offers her clients a strengths-based approach to therapy where she believes that each person offers unique strengths and gifts to the relationship.  She views this therapeutic relationship as one of equals where healing and growth take place is a space of non-judgement and unconditional regard.   Kelly believes that each client is able to utilize their own strengths and build resilience to live a full and abundant life.

Kelly enjoys helping families, couples and children who struggle with a variety of concerns.  Her specialties include addressing anxiety and depression in children and adolescents, addressing eating disorders in all ages, working with the family system through transition, loss and life stress, as well as, helping couples improve communication skills to build a healthy marriage. 

Kathryn Schuster, MSW, LICSW

Kathryn Schuster provides individual therapy services and family therapy services to adolescents and adults.
 
Kathryn feels compelled to provide each of her clients with a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment the moment they walk through the door.  Her daily practice encompasses a client-centered approach, in addition to a strengths-based approach, in order to assist her clients in feeling empowered.  She feels passionate about helping her clients reach their full potential by building upon their resilience and overcoming challenges they face in their daily lives.
 
Kathryn has experience working with anxiety, depression, and a wide variety of other presenting issues.  Additionally, she has experience working with individuals and families who have endured significant trauma. Kathryn's primary therapeutic interventions include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Future Directed Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 

Brad Branham MA, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Brad Branham provides services for children, adolescents, couples, parents, and families. 

In order to meet the specific needs of each client he serves, Brad is flexible in his therapeutic approach and relies heavily on the presenting concerns of the client to guide intervention.  While he considers himself eclectic, he draws primarily from a client-centered and systemic approach to therapy.  He believes that understanding an individual’s unique past and present experience is critical to identifying and developing goals and guiding necessary change.  

Brad has worked with clients in a number of different treatment settings including school, in-home, day treatment and outpatient settings.  He works with a variety of presenting issues but specializes in anxiety disorders, trauma history, attachment difficulties, depressive disorders, relationship and marital difficulties, parenting skills and support, and behavioral disorders.  
 
In his work with children, Brad strategically integrates play and talk therapy with direct parenting support and skill-building.  He frequently meets with parents to discuss their child’s progress, success, challenges, and stressors.  While many therapists shy away from challenging adolescent clients, Brad is passionate about working with adolescents who are exhibiting non-compliance, defiance, and oppositional behaviors.  

Erin Green, MA, LMFT

Erin Green provides therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.

She is passionate about supporting others through challenges and works to assist clients in overcoming obstacles and managing difficult life transitions. While working in collaboration with clients, she focuses on helping to strengthen coping skills while providing support to create change. 

Erin uses mindfulness-based therapy and utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and other theories to promote healing, growth and wellness.  Her empathetic and strength-based style supports clients in working through whatever challenges they may currently be facing.

Kelly Berscheit, MSW, LICSW

Kelly is an experienced clinical social worker and psychotherapist.  She serves children (5+), adults, seniors, and families.  Kelly is described as caring, compassionate, and inspiring.

With a foundational belief that persons are born mentally healthy, then the psychotherapy question is what happened?  From a scientific perspective, our self- mind, body, and spirit, are designed to resolve and heal from injury and illness, and systemically programmed to return to a healthy functional state.  In a hopeful, safe, trusting therapeutic relationship and environment, with a holistic, psychodynamic, integrative therapy approach Kelly helps her clients to manage their symptoms, discover, recover, and heal.

Kelly specializes in treating trauma, and related mental health pathologies of stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression, attachment, grief and loss.  She has experience treating ADHD, substance abuse and more.  She is certified in Trauma Focused- CBT and EMDR trained.  She creatively uses a variety of supportive, expressive, and experiential therapeutic interventions including art, sandtray, narrative, play, mindfulness, along with psychoeducation and parenting education to stabilize and empower clients to live a healthy, more satisfying, and fulfilling life that they desire. 

Lorilee Virnig, MA, RYT, CC

Master of Arts Counseling and Psychological Services, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified ADHD Coach

Lorilee enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults during all stages of life. She has extensive training in Play Therapy, parent/child Filial Therapy, EMDR, DBT skills, collaborative problem solving, and ADHD coaching. She uses these highly effective techniques to help clients cultivate a better understanding of and relationship with themselves, their children, or their current employment or academic situation.

Lorilee believes that therapy is an art as well as a science. She uses her experience, authenticity, and wisdom to customize her therapeutic approach to the specific needs of each relationship. She facilitates helping clients develop self-compassion to honor their unique skills while she supports their courage to change and their ability to find joy.

As a long-time practitioner of yoga and meditation, Lorilee embodies a non-judgmental, holistic approach to overcoming both the ordinary and extraordinary challenges that life can bring. Prior to her graduate education and training in counseling and psychological services, she worked nationally and internationally for a fortune 100 corporation, as a director in non-profit governance, ran a home-based business, and raised a family. She completed her yoga teacher training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She is also a certified instructor of Yoga Calm® for Children. 

Sydney Erickson, PsyD, LP

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Sydney Erickson provides clinical assessments and therapy services for adults and adolescents (age 13+). 
 
Dr. Erickson's therapeutic philosophy centers on empowering clients to make decisions that promote their overall well-being and life satisfaction. She believes this starts by establishing a therapeutic relationship wherein clients feel supported and understood. Sessions may focus on skill building, psychoeducation, or exploring how past experiences may influence our current perspective.  Dr. Erickson's therapeutic style is collaborative and integrates aspects of CBT, mindfulness, relational, and psychodynamic techniques depending on clients' needs and preferences. In addition, she considers each client's unique cultural factors, both individually and in the context of the larger societal culture. 
 
Dr. Erickson has experience working with a broad range of concerns including stress management, anxiety, relational issues, identity concerns, and life changes. She also has specialized training and experience in working with clients with eating disorders. 

Jenn Benson, MA, LMFT

Jenn Benson provides individual and family therapy for adolescents (ages 13+) and adults.

As life can bring many challenges and change, working with a professional who is a good fit offers strength and direction when life seems difficult. Jenn works to foster the development of healthy coping skills in those she works with and offers ways to increase self awareness, improve interpersonal communication, and build/utilize support systems.

Jenn has a wide array of experience working with adolescents (school, day treatment and outpatient settings) and with adults. Her areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, chemical dependency/abuse, stress management, self-exploration, life transitions, family conflict, and parenting.

Psychiatry

Scott M. Yarosh, MD

Board Certified Psychiatry and Internal Medicine

Dr. Yarosh is a Board Certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist with an eclectic perspective on the practice of psychiatry. He provides medication management for adolescents (12+) and adults with a variety of presenting issues.

Dr. Yarosh views clients as individuals possessing areas of relative strengths and with opportunities for growth. This relatively uncommon perspective deviates from that of many psychiatrists who may view clients' difficulties in terms of the more medically based disease model. While temperament, hereditary factors and brain chemistry play a vital role in the state of an individual’s mental health, Dr. Yarosh firmly believes in emphasizing psycho-social factors when addressing individuals mental health state and their treatment needs.

Dr. Yarosh brings a wealth of experience and a hybrid of medical knowledge coupled with psycho-social training to his practice style. He possesses empathy for other and is not judgmental of their circumstances.

Kelsey Marquette provides administrative assistance, support, and office management to the providers at Healthwise. Kelsey understands the importance of mental health, and she recognizes that therapy plays a key role in helping people navigate through feelings, problems, and life stresses. She strives to help you find a provider who will be a good fit for you. Her goal is to help you feel comfortable and at ease when you come into Healthwise. She believes that everyone deserves to live a life full of happiness and enjoy the journey through it.

Jessica provides administrative assistance to providers and clients. She has an authentic listening heart and desires to match you with a provider that best suits your needs. Jessica provides information on services offered by taking phone calls and responding to email inquiries. She believes each individual is unique and worthy of unconditional acceptance and wants to make sure you feel comfortable at our clinic.
